Hello and welcome to Forest Way and Dumfries and Galloway,
Winner of Countryfile's "Holiday Destination of the Year 2016", Dumfries and Galloway is one of those places which really does have something for everyone. Whether it’s adrenalin pumping outdoor pursuits or places of absolute solitude and tranquility - you can find them here. From beautiful beaches with astonishing tides, to forests so dark you can see the Northern Lights. You can cycle, play golf or watch the amazing wildlife: it’s all right on your doorstep.
We searched for years to find a property in the heart of it all and eventually found it in Forest Way. Large enough to easily accommodate three generations of a family, the interior design of the house was based around trying to create a contemporary look while still maintaining the feel of a warm, comforting country retreat. Filled with luxury furnishings including artwork by Scottish artists like Jack Vettriano and John Lowrie Morrison, one guest commented it is like "Gleneagles on Solway".
Forest Way is ideal for a group of friends or that special family occasion, either sharing a meal in the large dining kitchen, watching a film in front of a roaring log fire or enjoying a quiet Sunday morning reading the papers in the Snug, there is something for everyone. The landscaped garden leads down to the loch. You have your own private boathouse, you can fish from the jetty or just simply relax in the hot tub and watch the sun go down. For parties larger than 10 we have a separate, self-contained studio apartment which can also be booked. The property is only available for exclusive use so the grounds and features are yours alone to enjoy during your stay.
We think the secret to a happy holiday for a large group is to have something for everyone. On our website you will find links to some of the various activities which are available close by, or you can simply pull up a chair on the jetty, relax and look out for the swans, cormorants or even otters. Remember, you have your own Scottish loch at the bottom of your garden!
Our aim was simple – to create a luxury home in a stunning location with the sole purpose of providing an escape from the stresses of daily life. We love Forest Way – we hope you will too.
